About

Aïsha de Barros Lopes | Certified Somatic Sexologist & Body-Based Practitioner

I support people to reconnect with their bodies and explore their sexuality, using embodiment as a path to meaningful change in their lives and relationships.

I support individuals and couples navigating challenges with sex and intimacy, as well as those wanting to explore this area of their lives more deeply. My work integrates somatic sexology, body-based modalities and relational frameworks to create meaningful, lasting change in sexuality, intimacy and overall wellbeing.

I offer online sessions across Australia and internationally, and in-person bodywork in Melbourne, Australia.

Why I Do This Work

Many people have not received the sex education, relational guidance or body-based awareness needed to navigate intimacy and sex confidently. This can leave clients feeling disconnected from their bodies, uncertain about desires, or unsure how to communicate boundaries.

Through somatic sexology and body-based practices, I provide an evidence-infromed space where clients can:

  • Reconnect with thier sexual self

  • Build relational awareness

  • Develop practices for commuincation, consent and pleasure

My decade of experience in community advocacy and legal environments informs my commitment to ethical, professional, and accountable practice.

That work revealed both the resilience people carry and the subtle ways responsibility, expectation, and habit can disconnect us from our bodies. Without embodiment, long-term change — personal, relational, or systemic — comes at a profound cost. These insights shape my practice.

How I Work With Clients

I offer:

  • Online Somatic Sexology Sessions for individuals and couples, across Australia and internationally

  • In-Person Bodywork in Melbourne, Australia

I practice from a somatic framework, meaning we work directly with the body, not solely through cognitive analysis.

Sessions are structured, professional and responsive to each client’s needs. The emphasis is on building capacity and coherence.

Core Approaches:

  • Somatic Sexology Frameworks: Address sexual shame, cultivate curiosity and support authentic sexual expression.

  • Embodiment Practices: Developt self-awareness, presence and personal agency.

  • Experiential, Body-Led Processing: Move beyond narrative to the body’s own intelligence.

  • Bottom-Up Approach: Guide the nervous system from internal cues to support lasting change in feelings, thinking and relationships.

Client Outcomes

Whether you are navigating sex and relationship challenges, rediscovering pleasure, or seeking deeper, self-connection, my work helps you:

  • Reconnect with your body and sexual self so you can experience pleasure, vitality and confidence.

  • Develop embodied awareness and personal agency, learning to understand and respond to your body.

  • Communicate your needs and boundaries effectively so you can develop fulfilling relationships.
