— YOUR EMBODIED EROTIC SIGNATURE™ RESULT

Exchange

Eroticism shaped by power, agency, and the tension between being in control and giving it over.

If this is your Signature, you may already know the feeling.

Something shifts when there is a clear exchange between you and another person. You might feel more alive when you're taking the lead. Or when someone else takes it. You might notice the charge in being watched, chosen, responded to or affected by someone. Sometimes it's in giving something over. Sometimes it's in being the one who gets to decide. And sometimes, the most erotic part is knowing that you could move between the two.

AT A GLANCE

You may be naturally…

Responsive

You may be particularly attuned to the way another person's energy, attention and choices affect your own experience. You might notice things other people miss, a change in someone's expression, the way they look at you, a shift in their energy, and find that your body responds almost immediately.

Influential

You may enjoy knowing that you can affect someone else. Their reaction can become part of what makes an experience exciting for you. You might enjoy seeing what happens when you say something, do something or simply let someone see you in a certain way.

Receptive

You may enjoy letting someone else take the lead sometimes, especially when you don't have to be the one making every decision. There can be something deeply satisfying about being able to let go of that responsibility for a while.

Intentional

You may be quite aware of who has the power in a situation and what you want to do with it. You may care less about having power all the time than about knowing that you have a choice in how you use it.

WHAT YOUR SIGNATURE REVEALS

Exchange is about what happens when something moves between you and another person. You might notice your arousal building when someone responds to you in a particular way. Maybe you say something and notice the effect it has on them. Maybe they take the lead and you feel yourself responding. Maybe you love being the one who decides what happens next, or maybe you enjoy handing that responsibility over for a while. You might even find yourself moving between the two.

The erotic charge can be in the response itself. Someone looks at you and you feel something shift in your body. You notice their reaction and become more interested. You do something, they respond, and their response affects you in return. Suddenly, what is happening between you becomes part of what turns you on.

What happens in your body is unique to you. You might notice pulling, lifting, rising, fluttering, tingling, warmth, buzzing, pulsing, expanding, tightening, softening or dropping. You might notice one of these, several, something completely different, or nothing at all. The point isn't to find the “right” sensation. It's to start noticing what happens in your body when you are having an effect on someone, or when someone is having an effect on you.

You may also find that eroticism changes when the balance between you changes. You might usually be the one who initiates, but find something comes alive when you let someone else take the lead. Or you might usually follow and discover how much you enjoy being the one who decides. You don't necessarily need one fixed role. The movement between them may be part of the charge.

This is part of a body-led approach to eroticism. Rather than starting with what you should feel, you start with what you can actually notice, and begin to learn what brings your eroticism alive, what changes it and what gets in the way.

A DISTINCTION WORTH NOTICING

Erotic power or feeling controlled?

With Exchange, giving someone power doesn't necessarily mean losing your own.

You might enjoy letting someone else lead, being directed, being watched, being challenged or handing over decisions for a while. The erotic charge can come from choosing to give someone else power while still feeling connected to your own choice.

The difference can be subtle. Your body can help you notice whether you are choosing to give your power or feeling like you can't take it back.

Erotic Power

If you are enjoying the exchange, you might notice a sense of excitement, surrender, trust, openness, a feeling of being deeply present or a pleasurable feeling.

Feeling Controlled

If the exchange no longer feels like a choice, you might notice yourself becoming tense, small, frozen or disconnected.

WHAT COMES NATURALLY, AND WHAT MAY REQUIRE MORE ATTENTION

Your strengths & growth edges

These aren't fixed characteristics. And they are not things you need to fix. They are simply places worth becoming curious about as you get to know yourself more deeply.

MAY COME NATURALLY

Finding erotic charge in the movement between agency and surrender

Reading subtle shifts in another person's responsiveness and attention

Creating intensity through relational dynamics rather than activity alone

Adapting your role according to the person, context and experience

MAY REQUIRE MORE ATTENTION

Recognising when the pursuit of control has replaced erotic exchange

Allowing yourself to receive without needing to direct the experience

Maintaining a sense of agency when choosing to surrender it

Communicating clearly about what you want, what you are offering and where your limits are

THE FRAMEWORK

From eroticism to the body

Embodied Erotic Design™ starts with an erotic dynamic and asks, How does that experience actually happen in your body? Your Signature gives you a lens. From there, we look at sensation, and integrate the 5 Somatic Tools. Not to tell you what you should feel, but to help you recognise what is already happening.

The research gives us the starting point. The embodied exploration is where the work begins.

YOUR BODY

Erotic experience involves changes in attention, breathing, muscular activity, sensation, heart rate and autonomic arousal.

For Exchange, this may involve a heightened sense of activation when you feel powerful, influenced, watched, chosen or responded to. You might notice increased energy, alertness, warmth, tension or a strong awareness of what is happening between you and another person.

For me, Exchange can feel like an openness across the front of my body. There can be a sense of space around my chest and upper body, sometimes with a light, tingling or feathery quality. My attention moves towards the front of my body and into the space between myself and another person.

But this is my experience of Exchange, not a template for yours. So, get curious. What happens in your body? Where do you notice the experience first? What happens to your chest, your breathing, your muscles? Do you feel more open or more constricted? Heavier or lighter? Buzzing or grounded?

What happens when you notice the space between you and another person? And what happens when you bring your attention back to yourself?

There is no right sensation to find. The point is to begin recognising how your eroticism feels from the inside.

A PRACTICE

With Exchange, the invitation isn't to get rid of activation, but to explore receptivity within it.

Bring your attention to the back of your body. Notice your spine, your weight, the skin across your back and the support beneath you. Let your back become a little heavier without closing your chest. Then notice the front of your body. Can you feel openness at the front and weight behind you? Notice what shifts in your breathing, muscles, attention and sensation.

There is nothing to achieve. Simply notice what helps you stay open, receptive and connected to yourself.
